Pivoting new investment and housing rehab in the state of Ohio. Moderator: Charles Bromley, Director, Ohio Fair Lending Coalition Over the past few years substantial progress has been made toward raising funds for the removal of blighted structures that require demolition. This session will discuss new initiatives underway to raise funding for vacant homes that can be saved through renovation and reuse. Jim Rokakis, Vice President of Western Reserve Land Conservancy and Director of its Thriving Communities Institute, will discuss his efforts to rally support for a state budget line item that would include funding for housing rehab. Erika Anthony, Senior Director of Advocacy, Policy, and Research at Cleveland Neighborhood Progress, will discuss a companion effort to mobilize community development funders and stakeholders for financing tools for housing rehab.
