Testimony presented before the Ohio Senate Health and Aging Committee,
Byron Solomon and Gail Long, Adult Protective Services Funding
Chairman Olsleger and members of the Senate Finance Committee, thank you for your time and the opportunity to speak with you today. My name is Byron Solomon and I am speaking to you today on behalf of Northern Ohioans for Budget Legislation Equality (NOBLE). I would like to speak to you today about the need to increase funding for Adult Protective Services.
Good morning Chairman Oelslager, Ranking Member Sawyer and members of the Senate Finance Committee. My name is Gail Long and I am here today on behalf of Northern Ohioans for Budget Legislation Equality, otherwise known as NOBLE, and one of the elderly. Many elderly are being abused, neglected and financially exploited. The legislators and Governor felt so strongly about protecting this population that a law was passed in 1981 to do just that.
